    Cynthiana Mayor and Commissioners to receive pay raises in 2003.
    Chuck’s Garage, 209 N. Main St., is moving to a new location and will be closed from Nov. 26 to Dec. 3. The new location is at 50 Techway Dr., behind E.D. Bullard.

  • Museum Musings

    * Cynthiana Democrat, Sept. 15, 1938 - “An old fire cistern, a relic of the days before a water works system was installed in Cynthiana, was discovered last week by John P. Stevens, WPA supervisor in charge of the construction of Miller Street between Pike and Bridge Streets. It was uncovered at the corner of Miller and Pike and was half filled with water. The cistern was 16 feet deep and 16 feet in diameter.”

    Former telephone operators will meet Saturday, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. at Biancke’s for their annual reunion luncheon. Everyone should bring a gift.

  • Furnish-Henson exchange vows

    Kendall Denise Furnish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Furnish of Cynthiana, and Joseph Ivan Henson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Henson of Cynthiana, were united in holy matrimony at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Lexington on June 25, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Gino Donatelli.
    The bride is the granddaughter of the late Dennis and Alberta Tussey, Nancy Furnish and the late Wilson Furnish of Cynthiana.

  • Fish-Jones wed July 23

    Brittany Michelle Fish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Durham of Lexington, Ky., and Brian Fish of Nashville, Tenn., and Christopher Allen Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Jones of Harrison County, were married July 23, 2011 at Providence Christian Church in Nicholasville, Ky. The Rev. Gerald Johns Jr. officiated at the ceremony.

  • Stanfield-French marry Oct. 29

    Sonja R. Stanfield of Cynthiana, and Timothy T. French of Cynthiana, were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 in Cynthiana. The ceremony was officiated by G.J. Pelkey.
    The bride is the daughter of Nancy and Huey Stanfield of Cynthiana.
    The groom is the son of Wanda Sivin of Cynthiana and Melvin French of Beaver Creek, Ohio.
