    The Fellowship of Faithful Outdoorsman of Leesburg Christian Church, Cynthiana residents of Parkside Manor and Shady Lawn Personal Care Homes enjoyed a day of fishing on June 11 at the farm of Wally and Karen Barnes on Wornall Lane, Cynthiana.

  • Ritchie-Maddox wed in outdoor ceremony

    Chris Ritchie and Michele Maddox exchanged wedding vows on July 8, 2011. The outdoor wedding was held at the home of Doug and Brenda McCauley.
    Craig Ritchie and Kevin Bradford served as best men.
    Bridesmaids were Carrie Cash and Margaret Maddox.
    Gracie, great-neice of the groom, was the flower girl.
    Bill Kuster performed the ceremony.
    The couple spent their honeymoon at Pine Mountain State Resort Park and will be residing in Cynthiana, Ky.

  • Whalen-Muth to marry Aug. 6

    Pam Whalen of Cynthiana and the late Bobby Whalen, announces the engagement of their daughter, Julie Kay Whalen, to Jeremiah John Muth, son of Ellen Bunch of Oliver Springs, Tenn., and the late Brent Muth.
    Whalen is a graduate of Harrison County High School and has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Eastern Kentucky University. She is pursuing a Masters in Historic Preservation from the University of Kentucky. Whalen is employed by Liberty Hall Historic Site in Frankfort, Ky.

  • Cummins-Cobbins plan September wedding

    Tyris, Alarra, Airsiah Cobbins, along with their grandparents, Vesta Cummins of Georgetown, Ky. and the late Blaine Cummins, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their parents, Cartia Renee Cummins and Larry Denard Cobbins Jr., son of Vivian Bender and Larry Cobbins Sr. of Hattiesburg, Ms.
    Cummins is a 2001 graduate of Harrison County High School. She is employed as a receptionist at the Scott County unemployment office and is also a certified nursing assistant.

  • Brooks- Palmer to wed Aug. 27 in Georgetown

    Haley and Taylor Palmer of Georgetown, Ky., announce the forthcoming marriage of their father, Jonathan Journey Palmer of Georgetown, to Emily Sue Brooks of Lexington.
    Brooks is the daughter of Francis Leo Brooks of Harrodsburg and Susan Brooks of Lexington.  She is a 2002 graduate of Bryan Station High School, Lexington, attended EKU 2002-2005 and attends Midway College School of Nursing.  She is employed with Kohl’s of Georgetown.

  • McCauley to celebrate birthday

    Thomas Jackson McCauley of Harrison County will celebrate his 95th birthday on Friday, July 29.

  • MyPlate: A new symbol, suggestions for eating healthy

    The MyPlate symbol, with a plate, fork and drinking glass, simplifies the message for healthy eating. The plate is divided into four equal sections – vegetables and fruits fill the left half, and grains and protein fill the right. The glass represents dairy products.

    CUMMINS-ANDERSON
    The Cummins-Anderson reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 7 at Antioch Mills Christian Church. Utensils, plates, cups and drinks provided. The potluck meal will be served at 1 p.m.

    EARLYWINE
    The annual reunion of the late Harley Earlywine and his siblings, Richard Earlywine, Dora Earlywine Reeves, Jesse Newton Earlywine, James Daniel Earlywine, Roy D. Earlywine, Sally Ethel Earlywine Whirles and Amanda Earlywine Mynear will be held Sunday, Aug. 14 at Blue Licks State Park at the large shelter.
