  • Local pets featured in new 2012 Humane Society Calendar

    Local pets from Harrison County are the focus of the first annual 2012 Humane Society engagement calendar book. Each month features two local pets, with a story of their lives and a full page professional photo of the ‘pet of the month’.

    David Tyler Collins was born to Derrick and Amanda Collins on Sept. 19, 2011 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He weighed 6 lbs.
    Maternal grandparents are Peachie and Vicki Herrington of Cynthiana.
    Paternal grandparents are David and Jackie Collins of Cynthiana.

  • Deitemeyer hosts October Omega meeting

    The October meeting of the Preceptor Omega Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi was held at the home of Nancy Deitemeyer. Patsy Barnett, president, called the meeting to order. The theme for the year is “Building Our Future on Tradition” and keeping with that idea, the social committee planned an outing to Keeneland to celebrate the 75th year of horse racing in Kentucky.

  • Reunion

    The Gilkerson/Gilkison family reunion will be held Saturday, Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Legion Hall on Legion Road in Paris, Ky. Meal will be served at 12:30 p.m.
    Bring a covered dish for sharing and soft drinks. Utensils, plates, napkins, lemonade and coffee will be furnished. Bring your family tree information and anything you’d like to display for everyone to enjoy.
    We are limiting the mailing to one per family. Inform your family members.

  • Kendalls to celebrate 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 27

    Harold M. and Dolores J. Kendall of Cynthiana are celebrating their 60th anniversary. They were married Oct. 27, 1951 at the First United Methodist Church by the late Rev. M. P. McClure.
    They are the parents of three sons, H. Lee (Kelly) Kendall, D. Louis (Lisa) Kendall, Larry R. (Debbie) Kendall, and grandparents of Katie, Jacob, Laura, Jesseca, Scott, Larah Kate and James D. Kendall.
    There will be a family dinner to celebrate their anniversary.
