    THURSDAY, July 8

    Women’s Book Club selection for the month of July is Life of Pi by Yann Martel. The book is available for pick-up at the front desk at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.  Will meet Thursday, July 8 at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served the night of discussion.

    Prize Book Store. Will be open from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the library.

    Berry City Commission will meet Thursday, July 8, at 7 p.m., at Berry City Hall. The meetings are open to the public.

    Helena United Methodist Church will host a motorcycle show on Saturday, July 17 at 4 p.m.

    There will be prizes, blessing of the bikes and  a cookout.

    Movie Night. Tuesday, July 1 at 6 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Will be watching a movie while enjoying pizza, popcorn, and soda. This program is for adult patrons and pre-registration is required.

    “The Hour of Power” Radio Ministry, aired weekly on Saturday mornings on 90.7 FM (The Wind), at 10-11 a.m.

    The Rev. Don Fryman will bring a message each week along with special music by various singers across Harrison County and surrounding counties.

    Central Christian Church is hosting Vacation Bible School July 5-9. Classes are offered for Pre-K through sixth grade. All children are welcome.

    Cornerstone Christian Church will host its annual yard sale Saturday, June 26, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 104 Court St.

    A variety of items will be sold.

    Hot dogs, chips and drinks will also be sold at the event.

    Humane Society Yard Sale. Thursday, June 3 will accept donations at 6:30 p.m. Sale will be June 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and June 5 from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Cynthiana Presbyterian Church. Donations are tax deductible and will be used to promote animal welfare in Harrison County.

    * Log Cabin, Feb. 17, 1905 - “‘Tact’ is the subject of a lecture to be given here next Tuesday by Mary Patton Hulton of Cincinnati under the auspices of the Daughters of the Confederacy. The proceeds are to be used to purchase markers for Confederate graves at Battle Grove Cemetery and at Johnson Island. The Shelby News says ‘Tact’ was given by Hulton to a most enthusiastic people. It is a most captivating talk over-running with mirth and luminous with sense.”’
