  • FAITH OR UNBELIEF

I found an interesting fact during my Bible study yesterday.  I was reading in Matthew 8:10 where it tells us of a centurion with a servant in need of healing in his body.
This Roman centurion approached Jesus with this need and was shocked to find the response of Jesus.
Our Lord told the man, “I will come and heal him.”
The centurion responded in humility and asked that Christ would “but speak the word only and my servant shall be healed.”

After deep and serious thought, I think I have a solution for all the world’s major problems:
    Everybody stop.
Just stop. Take a breath. Step back. Chill out.
Protesters, go ahead and protest, but you don’t have to riot, so put down your bricks and rocks. Stop looting. Stop damaging people’s property. Stop shouting obscenities -- and clean up your litter on the streets.
People need to stop their violence, beginning in the home. Stop beating your wife or your boyfriend or your kids. Stop getting drunk. Stop doing dope.

  • Through Jesus, death is undone

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 10 years old. I came home from school. My dad was home. Weird. He followed me into my bedroom sat on the bed and asked me to sit beside him. He then told me that my grandfather, his dad, had died of a massive heart attack.
We had just spent a week with him and Grandma at Thanksgiving. I had gone hunting with him that week. But now he was gone. I would never see him again. I was devastated by this, my first experience with death.

...It’s an NBC drama on Tuesday nights that follows the Pearson family: three siblings -- Kevin, Kate and Randall -- and their parents, Jack and Rebecca.
Actually, Kevin and Kate are two-thirds of a set of triplets. The third triplet, Kyle, died at birth.
After Randall, born on the same day, is left at a fire station and brought to the hospital by a fireman, Jack and Rebecca adopt him and raise all three kids as the “Big Three.”

  • Who Will You Be This Year?

Have you ever played cowboys and Indians, or pretended to be the game winning athlete? Imagination is a key to a happy childhood.
Adults play games like that as well. We relive our lives through our children – wanting for them what we wished for ourselves, e.g. dads at the ball field, moms at the bridal shop. A dangerous game we adults play is “What if I only had…?” We try to relive our lives.

There’s always something new to click on Facebook, and recently it’s been “What Has 2016 Taught You?”
According to Facebook, here’s what I’ve supposedly learned this past year:
“Forgiving is easy, it’s trusting them again that’s hard.”
The folks or whoever/whatever at Facebook added, “The past year has changed you completely. You’ve seen your life from a completely different angle and this led you to new experiences.”
    Hmmm.
