  • Chasing the monsters away

My grandfather sold insurance by day and in his spare time he was an artist.
He mostly painted clowns -- scary clowns.
A few of his paintings hung in our house, which meant as a kid I had major heebie jeebies nearly all the time, especially at night.
When you’re a kid getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and you know scary clowns are staring at you from the walls in the hallway, well, you grow up neurotic and afraid.

  • Coppersmith leaving FUMC

Greetings to the people of Harrison County,
It seems like it was just yesterday that we arrived, and this is why it’s so hard to believe we have resided in Cynthiana just short of five years. When Sharon, Trinity and I first arrived here in Cynthiana, we got busy with the First United Methodist Church, and in the community which God placed FUMC.
How excited we were to build relationships with you as we shared the Good News of Jesus Christ.

  • Experiencing the Holy yoga

    Experiencing the holy
    I love yoga -- pants.
Soft, comfy, forgiving. They’re great to wear around the house or to bed. They’re especially great to wear before, during and after you stop at the store and bring home a vanilla creme bundt cake and maybe slice into it one or 12 times too many.
Not that I’ve ever done that, but if I do, I’ve got the perfect pants for it.

    LIVING HOPE

  • “Here’s Your Sign”

I was entertained by Bill Engvall’s parody in one of our local businesses just the other day. It hasn’t lost its comic appeal.

  • I wish you could walk in my shoes

I wish you could walk in my shoes.
I’m talking about my Skechers round-toed EZ Flex 2 Sweetpea slip-ons with the softest, most cushiony memory foam footbeds that feel like I’m walking on pillows.
I have three pairs -- black, gray and powder blue. Today I’m wearing the powder blue ones.
They are the most comfortable shoes I own and quite possibly the most comfortable shoes I may have ever worn before in my entire life.
    I love these shoes.
