  • Who Are You, Anyway?

    By Carrie Miller
Life in a small town is different from life in a big city. There are fewer shopping centers, fewer traffic lights, and in general, fewer people.  In fact, most of the time in small towns, just about everybody knows everybody else.  And if they don’t know you- they certainly know about you.
But, do we know each other, really?  It is easy in life to find your identity in many things other than Christ.

  • Sharing our bananas, like sharing grace

One of my favorite writers is Anne Lamott.
She’s both profound and profane, one of those people who, when you hear what comes out of her mouth, you gasp and are horrified — unless you’re honest with yourself and realize she’s only saying the same things you sometimes think.
Some people think she’s not a real Christian because of her language and liberal, whacked-out theology. She says she came to faith in Christ kicking and fighting and cussing, which, again if you’re honest, is the way many of us come to Jesus.

  • Life comes at us, but it's in His control

The last time I wrote in this spot, I was lamenting the fact that my eldest child was graduating from high school.
I was not ready for one of my children to be an adult and leave home. Funny thing though, whether I was ready or not, it has happened.

  • Go ahead and laugh

    In 1998, I had a bad week.
