    CYNTHIANA CHRISTIAN CHURCH

  • Remembering to remember

On most days, I have a terrible memory, but not today.
    Today, I can’t stop remembering.

  • A fish called grace

In 2007, Australian diver Eric Nerhus reported being swallowed by a great white shark.
He said it was like being trapped in a cave.
He told the London-based newspaper The Daily Telegraph that one minute he was “prying abalone off the rocks with a chisel; the next he found his head, torso and one arm enclosed by the killer shark’s razor-sharp teeth.”
He escaped after stabbing the shark in the eye with his chisel.

    WAREAGLE MINISTRIES

  • The joyful promise of the Resurrection

We welcome the arrival of spring. Sunshine encourages our hearts after 2015’s winter snowfalls. Colorful carpets of daffodils and tulips brighten the Central Kentucky pre-Easter landscape. Inhale deeply, exhale slowly the refreshing newness of spring.
One of the objectives of writing articles for the Cynthiana / Harrison County Ministerial Association includes letting the community get to know the members. Communication through reflective writing fills the bill.

  • Celebrating the worst best thing

The other day I thought of the phrase, “the best worst thing.”
Is it even possible to have a best worst thing? Isn’t that an oxymoron, like jumbo shrimp or pretty ugly?
For one of my daughters, the past year has been the worst of her life, and she’s still asking why. “If Jesus loves me, why did he let this happen?” she asks.

  • When God is "too small"

A few years back, I read about a woman who titles her years according to what she wanted to accomplish or see happen during the year.
One year might be “The year of overcoming” or “Hope will see me through.”
That one particular year was titled “Your God is too small” after a lengthy conversation she had with a friend about all the things she doubted would ever happen, from family members coming to faith in Christ to whether she would ever or could ever sell her house.
