This weekend the Harrison County Youth Basketball program will be sponsoring a fundraising tournament that will display the young basketball talent present in several of the surrounding counties. There will be five age divisions with students ranging from fourth to eighth grades participating.
Games will be played from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Southside Elementary gym and the gym at Harrison County Middle School.
At Southside Elementary, the day will begin with a series of games in the fourth grade age division. The line-up is: 10 a.m. Harrison County vs. Scott County Vipers; 11 a.m. Central Kentucky Crusaders vs. Richmond Raptors; 12:15 p.m. Pendleton County vs. Scott County Vipers; 2:30 p.m. Harrison County vs. Pendleton County; and 3:30 p.m. Clark County vs. Richmond Raptors.
Fifth grade games taking place at Southside are: 4:45 p.m. Montgomery County vs. Harrison County; 5:45 p.m. Scott County Redwings vs. Georgetown 41; 7 p.m. Montgomery County vs. Scott County Redwings; and 8 p.m. Harrison County vs. Georgetown 41.
At HCMS, games will be played on both courts.
On the first court, the line-up is: 10 a.m. seventh grade Bracken County vs. Fleming County 6th; 11 a.m. eighth grade Harrison County vs. Fleming County; 12:15 p.m. seventh grade McNabb Middle School vs. Bracken County; 2:30 p.m. fifth grade Harrison County vs. Scott County Redwings; 3:30 p.m. seventh grade Fleming County 6th vs. McNabb Middle School; 4:45 p.m. sixth grade Richmond Rockets vs. Franklin County Flyers; 5:45 p.m. Montgomery County vs. Fleming County; 7 p.m. sixth grade Northern Kentucky Wolfpack vs. Mason County; and 8 p.m. Harrison County vs. Montgomery County.
On the second court, the line-up will be: 10 a.m. Fleming County vs. Pendleton County; 11 a.m. eighth grade Bath County vs. Montgomery County; 12:15 p.m. seventh grade Harrison County vs. Pendleton County; 2:30 p.m. fifth grade Georgetown 41 vs. Montgomery County; 3:30 p.m. seventh grade Fleming County vs. Harrison County; 4:45 p.m. sixth grade Scott County Wolfpack vs. Northern Kentucky Wolfpack; 5:45 p.m. eight grade Bath County vs. Harrison County; 7 p.m. sixth grade Harrison County vs. Richmond Rockets; and 8 p.m. eighth grade Bath County vs. Fleming County.
Admission for the event is $5 for adults, $3 for students in Kindergarten through 11 years old. Pre-school students will be admitted free of charge.
