Freezing rain and icy roads proved to be treacherous for Harrison County drivers Wednesday afternoon.
Harrison County deputy Chris Shields said the sheriff’s department responded to eight separate accidents between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Another three vehicle collisions in the county occurred later that evening and night, Shields said.
Shields said five of the incidents happened on bridges throughout the county.
