Barbara Marie Rorer will be among the 160 girls to dance during halftime of the Cotton Bowl, Texas, on New Year's Day. Playing will be Mississippi/Texas. Barbara is the daughter of Joe and Lona Rorer of Cynthiana.

A call was received by the Cynthiana Police Department stating the canopy of a jet plane was accidentally ejected while flying over the Scott-Harrison County area. Recovery of the canopy is sought.

The Cynthiana Post Office building is to be repainted and repaired. The contract was awarded to M. H. Ferguson of Decatur, Ill., who submitted a bid of $9,986.

•A 90-foot water tower of roughhewn Kentucky limestone at the entrance to Fort Thomas Military Reservation was presented by citizens of Covington, Cincinnati and Newport as a Spanish-American War Memorial.
