The Sunrise General Store is now open. The store is located in Sunrise off Highway 27 on Highway 1284, and is owned by Glen and Sylvia Doolin.

There will be a rate increase on your phone service this fall, according to South Central Bell. The last eight party line was changed on Nov. 30, 1981 at the home of Clarence and Willa Harrington, Cynthiana. This was the final statewide change.

A bicycle parade for all ages for Burley Days is planned. Prizes will be given to the best decorated bike.

William S. Stewart has purchased the stock of Herbert Allen Moore to become sole owner of Adams and Moore, Inc., furniture and hardware store.

*The town of Warsaw, Ky., on a level terrace overlooking the Ohio River, was once a prominent port.

*Keeneland Race Track, near Lexington, is on a land grant signed by Patrick Henry to his cousin Francis Keene for 8,000 acres of bluegrass land.

*Named for Col. John Allen, a prominent lawyer who fell at the Battle of the River Raisin, Allen County, was settled as early as 1797, and had a noted Baptist Church as early as 1801.
