Postal representatives hold meeting in Cynthiana concerning the purchase agreement for a lot on Ladish Road for a proposed new post office building.

No cause has been established on a CSX trail that derailed near Boyd with 22 cars from the middle leaving the track. The train was enroute to Cincinnati from Atlanta at 30 mph. There were no injuries reported. Estimated damage was near $250,000.

Births announced this week are: James Lewis Swinford, April 12, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Swinford; Robert Baxton Best Jr., April 5, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Best; William Joseph Kauffman, April 9, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Kauffman.
Bricklayers begin to raise the level of walls at the new Junior High School building site near the high school football field. Most of the concrete flooring had been poured. The school is one of four new buildings expected to be ready this fall.
Members of the Oddville Parent-Teachers Association were told of a plan to sell special plates showing a picture and a story of the school.
Ford Motor Company, Detroit, announces its new Ford Mustang for $2,368.
The  Robinson Dam has been repaired using about 137 tons of rock and it is believed that it will hold this time. The Poindexter dam is next on the list and plans are to repair it this fall when the water is low.
