Births announced this week are: Justin Michael Adams, March 5, son of Ronnie and Diana Adams; Mason Wesley Wickstrom, March 10, son of Jamie and Amber Wickstrom.
Four inches of rain in the last six days has brought the South Fork of the Licking River over River Road. More rain is expected.
Finishing touches were made on the front steps of the new Harrison County Justice Center. The deadline for the 26,000 sq. ft. center is June 21.

Births announced this week are: Erin Lee Combs, March 10, daughter of Lawrence and Randi Combs.
Groundbreaking ceremonies held for the construction on the waterline, which will serve both city and county residents, and is underway. Contractors expect the project to be completed in September. Total cost of the project is estimated at $2.7 million.
Groundbreaking for the Bridge Street Place, a new retail shopping center, to be held Saturday. The shopping center is expected to offer 10 stores. Owner of First Cynthiana, Inc., is Rob Selin. Selin is also the developer of the project. Cost of the project is estimated at $750,000.
The Lilly Pad Antiques to open on US 62 N.E. in the village of Oddville. Pricilla Lilley Jones is the owner.

Harrison County Volunteer Fire Department is now seeking volunteer firemen. The Cynthiana Fire Department has consented to train the volunteers of the County Department in fire-fighting techniques.
