Water rates are on the rise.
Cynthiana and Harrison County residents will see a spike in their water bills - possibly before the end of the year.
At Tuesday’s city commission meeting, commissioners approved the first reading of an ordinance raising city water rates from $8.05 (minimum cost for the first 2,000 gallons) to $9.05.
Commissioner Mark Mattmiller said the rate increase is necessary.
