Volleyball hopes to improve on last year’s success

Harrison County’s Volleyball fortunes soared last year as the Fillies were 38th District Champs and made it to the region semi-finals, losing to then-17th-ranked Campbell County.

The Lady Camels went on to be upset in the region finals by Newport Central Catholic due in some way to the effort they had to put out to defeat Harrison County.

Head Coach Bill Faulkner, in his 10th year at the helm, lost four seniors, three of whom played a lot of minutes from that 30-9 squad. Gone are middle hitter Sherese Doram, outside hitter Tori Brockmeyer, libero Hillary Bennett and defensive specialist Nicole Rosa, from that talented squad.

But do not despair for Harrison County’s volleyball fortunes.
