Veterans appreciative of day's events

To the editor:

We would like to once again express our sincere appreciation to the Cynthiana Elks Lodge for hosting veterans with a fish fry luncheon. It was great! The food was delicious, but the camaraderie warm and inviting. We felt appreciated and welcome.

In addition, each year we looked forward to a presentation by local school students. We were not disappointed. Jeff Kinney and his Eastside fifth-grade History Club worked together on a ten minute program. Mr. Kinney told us the students showed up at 7 a.m. for weeks to download photos and music and other visual aids to put together a PowerPoint presentation. Ask us and we can tell anyone, it certainly looked professional! They did an excellent job!

Our thanks to all who made this another memorable Veteran’s Day.
