Steve Crail, veterans affairs advisor, will be on the Licking Valley Campus to give information about veterans education benefits on Thursday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
VA students who are eligible include:
•Active duty members
•Former active duty that have separated
•Dependents of certain disabled veterans
Some individuals may be eligible for benefits if their military service places them in one of the following chapters:
Chapter 33 - Post 9/11 GI Bill. Provides benefits for Active Duty Veterans that served after Sept. 11, 2001. Implemented Aug. 1, 2009;
Chapter 31 - Vocational rehabilitation benefits for disabled veterans;
Chapter 30 - Montgomery GI Bill for Active Duty Veterans;
Chapter 35 - Education assistance benefits for dependents and survivors of certain veterans who have serious disabilities as the result of their service, or who have died of a service connected cause;
Chapter 1606 - Provides benefits to students participating in the National Guard and/or Reserves;
Chapter 1607 - Educational assistance for reserve component members supporting contingency op3.
