At the last Harrison County Beef Cattle Association meeting, one of the members suggested we have a meeting to discuss the merits of Kill Vaccines vs. Modified Live Vaccines. This has been discussed in meetings, at the farm supply stores, and even between one farmer to another.
On Monday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. the Harrison County Beef Cattle Association will sponsor a meeting to discuss vaccines and their use on the farm. Dr. Michelle Arnold, Ruminant Extension Veterinarian, will discuss the use of vaccines on the farm and give some direction of what to use on our calves and cows. She will also suggest to use your local veterinarian to make the decisions since they are the folks you depend on for day to day problems.
I have asked Arnold to discuss the different aspect with Kill vs. Modified Live Vaccines. She will discuss other drugs which we use.
I feel this is a meeting which is a must for beef producers. Plan to attend this meeting. Refreshments only will be served.
