To the editor:
United Propane Gas is requesting a zone change at the Business Park out on Connersville Pike. They want to change the zoning from light industrial to heavy industrial, and they want to do it on the lot that is right across the street from multiple residents’ homes. Frankly, the families in Harrison County don’t want a 30,000 gallon propane tank right across the street from their homes. This park was established with little to no input from residents many years ago, and now they are trying to change the very nature of the park. A “business park” is very different from a “heavy industrial” park, which could host any manner of very unappealing businesses. If residents eight years ago had known that one day heavy industrial would be moving in across the street, they would have been much more likely to fight the park itself. But that doesn’t seem to concern United Propane Gas.
I guess a family business doesn’t necessarily care about other families.
