Thanks to the generous donation of eight Camry engines by Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Georgetown, students at the Harrison ATC will be able learn valuable engine repair skills.
Students will disassemble and reassemble these engines while learning important internal engine components.
Automotive Technology Instructor Shannon Morrison feels that this is a wonderful opportunity for his students.
“I particularly want to thank Mike Triebsch,” said Morrison. “With recent budget cuts, it is extremely difficult to purchase tools and equipment for the automotive shop. These engines will give my students hands-on experience they otherwise would not have had.”
There are plans in the works for a continued relationship between Toyota and the automotive program at the ATC. Possible future donations may include tools and even automobiles.
