Within the first four days of the Cynthiana Bypass opening, Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies responded to three car wrecks on the roadway. Two, including one injury accident, occurred at the intersection of Bypass Road and White Oak Pike near Westside Elementary school.
The injury accident on Sunday, Nov. 3, at about 2 p.m., occurred when Margaret Wood, 52, entered the intersection from White Oak. According to the report from Dep. Robert Peak, Wood came to a halt at the stop sign, then drove on into the intersection in front of an oncoming car driven by Michael Puckett.
