It appeared to be a small college team playing a bowl game Friday night in Belfry in the second game of the Pike County Bowl.
After Pike County Central unmercifully ran up the score on helpless Phelps, 62-6, the band struck up the Belfry fight song and out came about 100 red-clad football players to ready themselves for battle.
This was a high school football atmosphere that stories are written about in the how to do it books.
