Thieves hit homes in Grinch fashion

The Grinch has stolen Christmas right here in Cynthiana.

When Melissa Hackney returned to her home from the hospital after delivering her new baby, she found that the early preparations she?d made for Christmas had gone for naught.

Her home was burglarized and the Christmas packages that she had tucked away so her 2-year-old couldn?t peek were stolen.

She estimates there were about $700 in gifts for a 15-year-old son, a 2-year-old son and the newborn daughter.

A gift for the youngest son?s birthday was also taken.
