To the editor:
What a pleasure to thank to the people of Cynthiana and its local leaders for the support and donations to Project Playground. Through the contributions of Harrison County families, local businesses, grants, fiscal court and city commission, Project Playground has reached $70,000 for all-age playground equipment at Flat Run Veterans Park.
How exciting to see a grass roots movement succeed with local citizens and officials banding together to reach a goal. I’m proud of our joint effort and everyone’s desire to pitch in to make Cynthiana a city of which we can be proud.
A special thanks to the fiscal court and city commission for their generous contributions. In a time where local government can be so divisive, it’s encouraging to see elected officials band together and support projects that provide value to all residents and fill a need within our community.
If anyone would like to make a donation to this project – do it quickly so you can be included. Make checks payable to Project Playground and mail to 310 E. Pike Street.
I can’t wait to see all of the kids’ smiling faces on the new playground equipment at Flat Run Veterans Park this summer!
