Telephone Operators Celebrate 50th Reunion. Former telephone operators met Saturday, Nov. 17 at Biancke’s Restaurant for their annual luncheon. This was the 50th year the former operators have met since the Bell South Co. went to the dial system on Nov. 18, 1962. Those attending were, front row, from left, Louise Corbin, Ann Beckett, Mary Lois Brunker, Doris Whalen; second row, Nettie Lou Perrin, Deanie Mattox, Dorothy Harp, Joyce Courtney, Audrey Dryden, Mary Moore, and Betty Whitson. Gifts were exchanged and everyone enjoyed looking at old pictures and reminiscing. Committee members for this year were Louise Corbin and Nettie Lou Perrin. The next reunion will be held at Biancke’s Restaurant on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at 1 p.m. Committee members will be Audrey Dryden and Joyce Courtney. Devotion was by Louise Corbin. Reading “Old Folks Are Worth A Fortune” was read by Mary Moore.
