Suttons to celebrate 60th anniversary

-A A +A

On July 24, 1953, Louis Earl Sutton, son of the late Roy and Lena Sutton, and Evelyn Florence Henson, daughter of the late Nanny and John Henson, were joined in holy matrimony at the Baptist Church parsonage in Germantown with the Rev. W. E. Maners presiding.
In the past 60 years, Louis has earned the respect throughout many communities by the friendly relationships he has acquired. Although mostly self-employed, he served as an employee of Cleveland Twist Drill in Cynthiana for eight years.
Evelyn succeeded at Cleveland Twist Drill until they closed their doors. She then held employment at E.D. Bullard Company, Cynthiana, retiring to share in a family lumber business for eight years. She is a member of Claysville Christian Church.
The Suttons have built their home in Robertson County where they have resided for 42 years. They raised two sons, Dennis E. Sutton and Mark A. Sutton. They also have two daughters-in-law, Young Sun Sutton and Lisa Sutton; four grandchildren, Robert Sutton, Denise So, Dana Bowlin and Darrin Sutton; and six great-grandchildren.
Some may know them as Ma and Pa’s Brooms, an art that they learned from Evelyn’s father, the late John Henson.
All family and friends are invited to celebrate this momentous milestone in their lives.
A reception will be held in their honor on July 20 from 4-6 p.m. at the Robertson County Community Center/Fire Department.
