To the editor:
As co-chair of the Relay For Life of Harrison County, I, along with Stacy Ishmael, would like to thank the community for the support given this year to the fight against cancer. Along with the American Cancer Society, we work all year long raising money that is used in Harrison County to provide services and support to our own that have been affected by cancer. By night’s end on Friday, June 22, we had raised $54,185.12.
Thanks again to all of our sponsors that were listed previously in our ad! Thank you to everyone who supported any Relay Team. Our fight is not over and we will continue to raise money.
It is the mission of ACS to eliminate cancer as a major health problem through research, education and advocacy. They provide information, day-to-day help, and emotional support to people with cancer and their families. Contact them 24/7 at 1-800-227-2345 or online at www.cancer.org.
Anyone interested in joining the fight by being on a team, volunteering or learning more about how to get involved, please contact Courtnie McKinney, ACS community representative at 859-372-7881.
For donations, you may send a check made out to the American Cancer Society with “Harrison County Relay” on the memo line and mail it to 297 Buttermilk Pike, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017.
Last but not least, I want to give a big ‘THANK YOU’ to all our committee members and teams whose dedication and perseverance has made such a difference to our loved ones.
