State mandates leaving seniors high and dry

A special advisory commission of senior citizens was held in Frankfort on May 8-9, 2008.

The Legislative Research Commission (LRC) is facing many problems due to mandates of Gov. Steve Beshear. The keynote speaker for this meeting was Commissioner Anderson, Department of Aging and Independent living, explaining results of a two to 12 percent reduction in monies and how this will affect not only her staff, but loss of monies so desperately needed for senior citizens centers.
