It may have started disappearing when athletes started doing little dances to draw attention to themselves when they scored a touchdown. It may have started disappearing when soccer players took their shirts off and ran around the field after they scored.
I don’t know when sportsmanship went away, I just know it’s gone.
Sure players line up after basketball games to shake hands, and football coaches walk across the field to shake hands after a game, at least in college and professional games, but it is for show and not sincere in most cases.
