Upward Soccer evaluations underway

Connersville Christian Church Upward Soccer evaluations tonight and Saturday.

Times are 6 to 8 p.m. on tonight and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Evaluations are for boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade and attendance at one of the evaluations is mandatory. They will be held at the church, which is located at 2190 Ky. Hwy. 1842 East.

Registration forms were sent home with students and are at various locations around Cynthiana. Fees are $50 per child until June 21. After that date, the cost is $60. This includes a reversible jersey, a water bottle, soccer socks, a car magnet and an end-of-season award. Soccer shorts are optional and available at an additional cost of $13. Forms and fees may be dropped off at the church office anytime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Red Cross Swimming Lessons begin

American Red Cross Swimming Lessons: Level III -- Stroke Development will be held June 18-20 and 23 and 24 from 10-11 a.m.

Level IV Stroke Improvement -- July 7-17 10:30-11:45 a.m. (includes Level IV beginners and Level IV advanced)

Level VI Personal Water Safety -- June 19-21 (time to be determined)

Track and field 2008 post season

awards program June 23

The Harrison County Boys and Girls Track Teams will have their 2008 Post Season Awards Program on Monday, June 23, 2008 at the Extension Office. There will be a buffet at 6 p.m. with the awards program immediately afterwards. Athletes, friends, and family are invited.

The track boosters will furnish the meat, drinks and paper products. Coaches Robert Walker and Danny Simpson ask that the following classes bring these items: freshmen vegetables; Sophomores,- salads; juniors and seniors desserts. If there are questions about the meal, contact Mary Ware Bradford (234 -4215 or 588-1748) or Tracy Whitaker (435-0550).

Uniforms, spikes, etc. should have been turned in by now. If you still have any of these items, please bring to the awards program in a plastic bag clearly labeled with your name. For more information about the banquet, contact Coach Simpson at 234-9218 or 235-1453.

Nick Hill Soccer Camp planned

Harrison County Thorobreds soccer coach Nick Hill will conduct his Thorobred Soccer Camp June 23-25 from 8:30 til 11:30 each morning at LeBus Field. The Camp is open to all boys and girls entering grades K-8 for the 2008-09 school year. Cost for the camp will be $60 for one child, with each additional family member costing $30. Camp applications have been delivered to each elementary school, as well as the middle school, in the Harrison County District. For more information contact Coach Hill at 588-0773.

Mike Reitz Basketball Camp

begins July 14

Harrison County High School basketball coach Mike Reitz has set the dates for his summer Youth Basketball Camp. The Hot Fun in the Summertime basketball camp will be held July 14 thru July 17 at the Harrison County Middle School. Grades K-6 will be held 8:30-11 a.m. daily with kids in grades 7-11 in the afternoons from 1 til 4.
