Colts lose final on Hilltop Thursday

The Harrison County freshmen footballers fell to Grant County Thursday evening by the score of 20-6. This was the season final for the Colts, who finished with a 2-5 record.

Harrison County scored first, but failed on the extra point to lead 6-0. Grant came back with 20 unanswered points to take the victory.

Cheerleaders open competition Saturday

The Harrison County varsity cheerleading squad opens its competitive season in Lexington Saturday, Nov. 7. The meet will be held at the Civic Center at 2 p.m. with top teams from across the state in attendance. 

In what is called the Bluegrass Regional, the top teams will earn a bid to compete in the National High School Cheerleading Competition in Orlando, Fla. Harrison County will be competing in the medium varsity squad division. 

The cheerleaders are also selling fresh evergreens, (wreaths, sprays, centerpieces, garland, etc.) through the end of November. See any cheerleader to make a purchase.

Information for Playoff on the Hilltop

When the Breds hosts West Jessamine’s Colts Friday night, the following seating and ticket prices will apply:

•Ticket prices are $6 per person, adults and students

•No passes will be accepted… this includes coach’s cards, HCHS season tickets, Harrison County District employee passes, etc.

•Season ticket holders of chair-back reserved seats will need to purchase a $6 ticket like everyone else, but their chair-back seat will still be reserved.

•Those with parking passes will still have those passes honored.

Kick off is 7:30 p.m. on Friday night. Gates open at 6 p.m.

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

Men’s 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Antioch Mills Christian Church.

Ages 18 and up, $40 per team; 17 and under, $20 per team; 14 and under, $20 per team.
