Breds Soccer Camp

Coach Nick Hill’s Thorobred Soccer Camp will be held June 15-18 at LeBus Field from 8:30 til 11:30 a.m., daily.  The camp is open to all kids entering grades K-8 for the coming 2009-10 school year. Camp registration forms can be picked up at any of the elementary schools or at Movie Warehouse. Cost for the four day camp will be $60 per camper.

Future Fillies Volleyball Camp

Registration for Future Fillies Volleyball Camp will be held Monday, June 15 from 5:30-6 p.m. for incoming fourth through ninth graders. Cost is $40, $70 for two campers. Camp dates will be June 15-18 from 5-8 p.m. each day at the Harrison County Middle School.

Annual Chamber Golf Scramble planned for June 18

The Cynthiana-Harrison County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 11th annual Chamber Golf Scramble fundraiser on Thursday, June 18 at 9 a.m. at the Cynthiana Country Club. Space is limited to the first 16 teams. Entry fee is $50 per person and $200 per team. All golfers will receive a golf goodie bag for participation.

A Golf Classic awards luncheon will be held immediately following the scramble, provided by the Cynthiana Country Club and is included in the registration fee. Prizes awarded to first, second, third, and Duffer teams. Prizes will be given for the Most Accurate Drive, Longest Drive, and Closest to Pin, and a draw for door prizes.

RSVP to Pat Grenier at 859-234-5236. Registration forms may be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce, 201 S. Main St., and must be turned in by Friday, June 12.

American Red Cross swimming lesson schedule

The American Red Cross swimming lesson classes will be held at the Cynthiana Country Club pool. Bring a bathing suit and towel. Fees for each class will be $25.

The following classes will be offered: Level II- Fundamental Water Skills, June 22-26 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Level III- Stroke Development, June 15-19 from 10:15-11:15 a.m.; Level IV- Stoke Improvement**, June 8-18 from 10:15-11:30 a.m.; Level V- Stroke Refinement, June 29-July 3 from 4-6 p.m.

The beginning class of Level I-Introduction to Water Skills will not be offered in the program this year. This class is offered at the Pavilion in Georgetown. The skills included in this class can also be attained through private lessons.

Due to pool space the Level II and Level III classes will be limited to 15 students.

Free fishing tournament

Martin’s Lake in Mt. Olivet, Ky. will host a free fishing tournament on Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for ages 4 and under and four through 16 years old. Each class will receive a prize for the most inches. All children will get a prize. Lunch will be provided at 1 p.m.

Track awards program

The Harrison County High School Boys and Girls Track awards program will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 20, at the Extension Office. There will be a meal at 11 a.m., with the program immediately afterwards. The public is invited.


Future Fillies Soccer Camp

The Future Fillies Soccer camp will be held June 8-11 from 6-8 p.m. at LeBus Field. The cost is $50. A discount is offered to siblings. Participants may preregister by getting a form from Kim Jenkins, Jeff Kinney or any soccer team member or participants may register the first night of camp. Water Aerobics to begin June 15

A Water Aerobics class will begin Monday, June 15 and continue through Monday, Sept. 7 (Labor Day). Classes will meet at the Cynthiana Country Club pool from 9 to 10 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Fees for the class are $50 (payable to the Cynthiana Country Club), plus $1 for each class attended (paid to the instructor).

The $50.00 fee is waived if the participant is a member of the Country Club. Registration will be before class on June 15. For more information, call Kelley Brunker at 859-234-4898.

Upward soccer sign-ups begin June 23

Sign-ups for Upward soccer will take place at Connersville Christian Church, 2190 Ky. Hwy. 1842 E., June 23-27. Everyone must attend one soccer evaluation.

•Kindergarten through sixth grade boys/girls: Tuesday, June 23 between 6 and 8 p.m.; Thursday, June 25 between 6 and 8 p.m.; and Saturday, June 27 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
