Harrison County cross country

practices have begun

The Harrison County cross country teams have begun practice. Their next practices are from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at the track on July 21, July 22, and July 24. All HCHS and HCMS boys and girls who are interested in running cross country are invited to attend. For more information call Coach Danny Simpson at 234-9218.

Softball camp will begin July 21

The Harrison County Youth Softball Camp will be held July 21-23 from 5:30-8:30 nightly at Shirley Field on the Hilltop. The camp will be directed by HCHS softball coach Christine Garnett and will be open to all girls ages 9-14. Cost for the camp will be $60 per person, with a family discount available for families sending more than one camper. Youth basketball camp postponed

The Harrison County Youth Basketball Camp, scheduled for next week at the Harrison County Middle School, has been postponed indefinitely. Due to construction issues at the high school, projected high temperatures, and a relatively low pre-registration, Coach Mike Reitz has decided to forego the camp for next week and will have an evening camp after the school year begins. Any camp tuition that has already been paid will be returned within the next week.

Three-day football camp slated

Harrison County High School football coach Aaron Stepp will conduct a three-day youth football camp on July 28-30 at Ingles Stadium. The camp will begin each day at 9 a.m. and will conclude at 11:30 a.m. and will be for children entering grades 1-6 for the 2008-09 school year. Cost for the camp will be $20 per child. Cheer camp is Aug. 4-6

Come Cheer with the Harrison County High School Varsity Cheerleaders

The Harrison County High School Youth Cheerleading Camp will be held August 4-6 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Eastside Elementary, for students in grades K-5. The camp will be directed by HCHS cheer coach DeDe Shirley, while members of the HCHS varsity cheer squad will be instructing the children. Cost for the camp is $45 for pre-registration and $50 for walk-up registration. For the $5 discount, and to guarantee your tee-shirt will be ready on time, pre-registration forms are due by July 28.
