Golf tryouts will be in July
Harrison County golf coach Jason Crisp has announced the dates for both the boys’ team tryouts and the girls’ golf team sign ups. In both cases an up-to-date physical has to be with the participant at the tryouts or sign up.  
The Thorobreds golf team tryouts will be held Thursday, July 17, at 7:45 a.m. at the Cynthiana Country Club. The format will be an 18-hole tryout with no more than a 10-member team selected.  
The Fillies golf team sign up will be Friday, July 18, at 7:30 a.m. also at the Cynthiana Country Club.  
Remember that each person trying out or signing up must have an up-to-date physical or they will not be allowed to tryout.

Two more camps for
Youth Football remain
The Harrison County Youth Football held its first camp last Saturday morning and has two more before school is in full swing next fall.
The next camps will be held on Saturday, July 14 and Saturday, Aug. 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. in Ingles Stadium. Registration forms are available at Joe Cochran’s State Farm Insurance Agency and Licking Valley Dental for the free clinics.  The registration forms may also be filled out on the day of the camps. The instruction will be given by the high school football staff, the middle school staff and some volunteers.
The camps are being held in anticipation of the new format for youth football which will have each elementary school fielding three teams.

High school volleyball tryouts
will begin July 15
Tryouts for high school volleyball will be held July 15 and 16 in the high school gym and is open to any high school girl.
Freshman tryouts are from 5-7 p.m.; sophomore, junior and seniors are from 7-9 p.m.

Football Alumni banquet is Aug. 9
The Harrison County Football Alumni Association will hold its annual banquet on Aug. 9 in the Harrison County High School cafeteria. The reception begins at 4 p.m. with the meal served at 5 p.m.  
The 2014 Hall of Fame inductees are Ronald Keith Richie from Cynthiana High School, John Daniel Herrington and Dr. Chris Kerns of Harrison County High School.  Dr. Brian Mulberry will receive special recognition for his support of the Harrison County Football program. Also honored will be the 1956 and 1957 Cynthiana Bulldogs.  
Banquet reservations need to be to Jim Furnish by July 25 in order to have plenty of food and drink. The cost of the meal is $15 per person. Dues for the alumni association are $10 per year or $100 for a lifetime.  The dues are the main fundraiser for the scholarships that the association gives to Harrison County football players who further their education while playing football. Breds soccer tryouts July 15, 16
Coach Nick Hill has announced that the tryouts for the 2014 Harrison County High School soccer teams will be held July 15 and 16. The tryouts will be held 5-7 p.m. each day on the LeBus Soccer Field.  
Tryouts are open to all boys in grades 7 through 12.  All attendees will have to have a copy of the current physical on hand in order to try out. This stipulation also includes returning players.
