Bluegrass Warhorses to hold
tryouts/season tickets on sale now
The first-ever open player tryout for the newly established Bluegrass Warhorses Indoor Football team will be held on June 1 at Toyota Stadium in Georgetown. Players at all positions will be evaluated at the tryouts including kickers. Registration for non-kickers is at 10 a.m. with the kickers signing in at 11 a.m.
The tryouts will consist of a combination of drills, including a 40 yard dash, 20 yard shuttle and various position-specific drills. The tryout is open to anyone 18 and over who has completed high school and is not under contract with any professional football team.  
Those wishing to tryout need to pick up a tryout packet which is available by contacting Eric Taylor or JaQuar Sanders at warhorse.profootball@gmail.com. Early registration fee is $50 with a $65 fee at the day of the tryouts.
Season tickets are also on sale now for the Warhorse’s inaugural season which begins in 2014. The home games will be played in the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park. The league includes other teams from Kentucky in Louisville, Pikeville and Owensboro.

Whitaker Baseball Camp
June 3-6 at River Road Park
The Mac Whitaker 2013 Baseball Camp/Clinic will be held for four days in early June at the River Road Park Fields. The camp begins at 8:45 a.m. on June 3 and will be completed at 12:15 p.m. on June 6. There will be one session only so sign ups will be taken on a first-come basis.
The camp will feature a camp T-shirt, awards to outstanding campers, radar gun velocity of each camper along with snacks and drinks. Each camper is to bring a glove and wear a cap, shorts and T-shirt.  
The camp is for ages 6-14 which includes the Coach Pitch, Little and Babe Ruth Leagues. Cost per camper is $70 with checks made to Mac Whitaker. The daily sessions are from 8:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. For more information or to sign up by phone call 859-298-9654 or 234-7108.

Regional track meet is Saturday
in Pendleton County
The Class AA, Region 4 Track and Field Championship will be held this Saturday in Pendleton County at the Sharp Middle School.
The school is north of Falmouth on U.S. 27 North.
The filed events will begin at 9 a.m. with the running events following at 10 a.m. The schools participating are Bourbon County, Covington Catholic (boys), Holmes, Franklin County, Harrison County, Highlands, Lexington Catholic, Lloyd, Pendleton County and Western Hills.
Highlands is the defending regional champion in the girls’ competition while Western Hills’ girls went on to win the state in 2012. Harrison County is the defending boys’ regional champions.

Upward soccer registration being accepted at Connersville Christian
Registrations for Upward Soccer are being accepted at Connersville Christian Church for boys/girls completing Kindergarten through sixth grade for current school year. Registration fee is $55.
Evaluations will be held Tuesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 20 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
