Fillies scrimmage Williamstown
at Scott County Friday
The Harrison County Fillies opened the 2009-10 season Friday with a scrimmage at Scott County. The Fillies took on Williamstown. After a cold start, where the girls found themselves down 14-2, they were able to put some good play together to tie the score at 16 by half time.
In the second half, Harrison County was victorious by using good defense that caused multiple turnovers leading to some easy baskets.
The Fillies were led by senior center Sherese Doram who scored 12 points. Kelsey Cummins added nine and Mariah Nichols seven, to support Doram’s “best game ever,” according to Coach Jason Crisp.
“We need to keep improving on defense and really work on rebounding” added Crisp.
The Fillies have their final scrimmage of the season as they meet Lafayette at 5:15 p.m. Saturday in an event held at Lexington Christian.
