Mac Whitaker Baseball Camp set

Harrison County baseball coachMac Whitaker will conduct his annual Youth Baseball Camp June 2 thru June 5 at the HCHS Baseball Field. The camp is open to all boys and girls, ages six thru 16. Players will be grouped in 6-8 year olds, 9-12 year olds, and 13-16 year olds. The camp will run from 8:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m., daily and will cost $65 per participant. T-shirts will be given to each camper, awards will be given to outstanding campers, radar gun velocity will be determined for each camper and drinks and snacks will be provided daily.

Mike Reitz Basketball Camp begins July 14

Harrison County High School basketball coach Mike Reitz has set the dates for his summer Youth Basketball Camp. The Hot Fun in the Summertime basketball camp will be held July 14 thru July 17 at the Harrison County Middle School. Grades K-6 will be held 8:30-11 a.m. daily with kids in grades 7-11 in the afternoons from 1 til 4.

Red Cross Swimming Lessons begins

American Red Cross Swimming Lessons: Thursday, May 29, from 4-6 p.m. at the Cynthiana Country Club Swimming Pool.

Level III -- Stroke Development will be held June 18-20 and 23 and 24 from 10-11 a.m.

Level IV Stroke Improvement -- July 7-17 10:30-11:45 a.m.(includes Level IV beginners and Level IV advanced)

Level V Stroke Refinement -- June 9-12 4-6 p.m.

Level VI Personal Water Safety -- June 19-21 (time to be determined)

Nick Hill Soccer Camp planned

Harrison County Thorobreds soccer coach Nick Hill will conduct his Thorobred Soccer Camp June 23-25 from 8:30 til 11:30 each morning at LeBus Field. The Camp is open to all boys and girls entering grades K-8 for the 2008-09 school year. Cost for the camp will be $60 for one child, with each additional family member costing $30. Camp applications have been delivered to each elementary school, as well as the middle school, in the Harrison County District. For more information contact Coach Hill at 588-0773.

Future Fillies Volleyball Camp dates set

Coach Bill Faulkner will host the Future Fillies Volleyball Camp June 16 through 19, Monday through Thursday, in the Harrison County Middle School gymnasium. The camp runs from 6 to 8 p.m. nightly.

Registration is Monday, June 19, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Fees are $40 for one child and $70 for two. The camp is for incoming fourth through ninth grade girls.

2008-09 HCHS Cheerleaders announced

After a week of practice and two days of tryouts, 20 members of the HCHS varsity cheerleading squad for the 2008-09 school year have been announced. Cheerleaders for the Thorobreds and Fillies will be seniors Johnna Carey, Bonnie Dailey, Brooke Kendall, Jesse Kendall and Jan Taylor Wilson, juniors Abby Cunningham, Maggie Dycus, Stephanie Fryman, Emily Kendall, Megan Lynch and Samantha Shirley, sophomores Elle Fisher, Julie Henson and Niki Whalen and freshmen Macy Gasser, Katelynn Horschler, Lauren Jackson, Taylor Moore, Madison Nelly and Megan Potter.
