Harrison runners compete

at Mason County indoor

On Saturday, Feb. 16, Coach Danny Simpson and two Harrison County hurdlers traveled to Mason County to compete in an indoor track meet with a 20-team field.

I was hoping to take a full team, but the combination of snow days and flu days didnt give us many days of practice the last two weeks, said Simpson.

Eighth-grade student Danni Kemplin placed sixth in the 55M hurdles with a time of :11.50. Due to a timer malfunction, Kemplins time is actually listed a little slower than it was. Senior Adam Fisher placed ninth in the 55M hurdles in a time of :08.98.

I was proud of our runners considering they had very little practice the last two weeks, said Simpson. Danni competed very well in a talented field of high school athletes and Adam might have been a little slow out of the blocks, but this was his best race of the indoor season. Overall it was a strong performance against some of the best hurdlers in the state.

HCHS bowlers to compete

in upcoming tournaments

On Sunday, March 2, the Harrison County High School boys and girls bowling teams will compete in the 2008 Conference Tournament at Forest Park Lanes in Winchester. The girls team finished first in the conference and the boys team finished second.

The state tournament will be held on Saturday, March 8, at Dixie Bowl in Louisville.
