'Good volume, good pitch.' 'Average voice, very confident, good stage presence.' 'A little too fast, watch your breathing.'

Those were just some of the comments made by judges during tryouts for the first Cynthiana Idol competition, which starts this Saturday at 8 p.m.

Being held at Rohs Opera House, Cynthiana Idol is a local version of the wildly popular Fox TV series, American Idol, where singing talents compete for a grand prize.

On TV, it's $1 million and a recording contract.
