First-year Harrison County football coach Mark Carroll liked what he saw on Friday night as the Maroon Team and White Team battled to a 28-28 tie in the Maroon/White Game at Ingles Stadium.
“I’d say we are about where we should be at this time of year,” said Carroll on Tuesday night. “A lot of guys saw action, it was exciting football to watch and there was a great crowd on hand for a scrimmage.”
The two varsity teams were evenly divided for the scrimmage and the two teams battled to a 14-14 tie. In the second half of the scrimmage, the freshman and sophomores also ended up 14-14.
“The thing that I really liked was that four different players scored in the varsity game,” said Carroll. “We should have several weapons this year and that will make it tough to defend against us.”
