Schools in Harrison County will be dismissing at 10 a.m. Thursday due to the potential for freezing rain and sleet.
According to Harrison County Assistant Superintendent DeeGee Fischer, the National Weather Service contacted school officials and urged officials to close school early.
An announcement had already been made to dismiss at 1 p.m. However, with NWS information and the potential for driving hazards, the dismissal was was moved up.
