In an attempt to meet state-required budget cuts, the Harrison County School Board announced at its special meeting Tuesday evening that four part-time positions have been eliminated.
The jobs cut were health aide positions, each totaling 20 hours or less a week.
“Once we learned of budget cuts for this year... those positions were the ones we chose to eliminate,” said Assistant Superintendent DeeGee Fischer.
Fischer said the state informed Kentucky school systems that funding would be cut 6.7 percent for the remaining school year.
