Scholarships available through Conservation District

The Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation District has two scholarships available for 2013. Through the local district office: two $1,000 scholarships are available to apply for. These scholarships are open to any high school senior or graduate who is a resident of Harrison County and will be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours at a two or four year accredited institution in a conservation, environmental and/or science program of studies. Previous years’ scholarship recipients are permitted to reapply for the scholarship, but preference will be given to qualified applicants who have never received funding through the conservation district.
Applications are due to the conservation district by April 8, 2013. Scholarship recipients will be decided at the April board meeting, and recognized/announced at the April 19 Harrison County Conservation District annual meeting.
Applications can be picked up at the Harrison County High School counselor’s office, Maysville Community College, Harrison County Conservation District Office, or can be found on facebook at www.facebook.com/HarrisonCo.ConservationDistrict.
