Junior golfer Eric Sanders was in good shape to make the cut at the Leachman Buick/Pontiac/GMC/KHSAA Boys’ State Golf Championships on Tuesday at the Bowling Green Country Club.
He was seven over par on the day with two holes to play, but finished with a triple bogey and double bogey for an 18-hole score of 84.
“That probably won’t make the cut, but we’ll stay down here for another day, just to make sure,” said HCHS golf coach Jason Crisp.
Sanders began his round with overcast and threatening weather conditions. After he his tee shot on No. 15, all golfers were pulled off the course due to heavy rain and lightening.
After a four-hour wait, the tournament resumed, but with several teams and individual players not having teed off.
