Sarah Elizabeth Royse of Louisville, Ky., daughter of Keith and Jeanie Royse of Cynthiana, and Mark Thomas Schirmer of Louisville, son of Charles and Suzanne Schirmer of Lexington, Ky., were united in marriage on July 30, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest.
The Rev. Charles Schirmer, father of the groom, officiated the ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Keith Royse.
Maria Taylor of Austin, Texas, cousin of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. Katie Royse of Paris, Ky., sister-in-law of the bride, was her bridesmaid.
Best man was Peter Schirmer of Arlington, Va., brother of groom. Ben Royse of Paris, Ky., brother of the bride, was his groomsman.
The reception was held at the Louisville Science Center. The couple spent their honeymoon in Chicago, Ill., and are residing in Louisville.
The bride is a graduate of Roanoke College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology; a graduate of The University of Louisville with a Masters in Counseling Psychology; a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing; and attending the University of Kentucky studying in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice program. She is employed by Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
The groom is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and attending Spalding University in the Doctoral Program of Professional Psychology. He is employed by US Bank, Louisville.
