Eighth grader Madison Roberts and freshman Justin Barnes took overall top shooting honors at the NASP 8th Region shoot last Saturday at Harrison County Middle School.
A strong performance by all three HC divisions (high, middle and elementary) produced a sixth straight region title for the middle school while the elementary and high school each captured their third straight.
In the high school girls’ division the top seven scorers all came from Harrison County as they were led by freshman Samantha McCall’s score of 276. Not to be outdone by the high school ladies’ success, Harrison County High School boys earned the top eight scores. They were led by overall male region title champion, Justin Barnes, with a score of 290.
The middle school girls earned eight of the top nine spots and were led by Madison Roberts. Her score of 282 helped her earn the overall female region title.
The middle school boys were lead by Kyle Yearsley’s 285 as he was joined by four of his teammates in the next four positions.
The elementary division provided a glimpse of a bright future as well. Along with their third straight team region title, individual top honors were awarded to Macy Robles-region champ 6th grade girls, Brooke Moore-region champ 5th grade girls, and Dakota Covert-region champ 5th grade boys.
