Remembering those who payed the most during WWII

The Harrison County courthouse lawn is dotted with monuments reminding us of the soldiers who have fought and died for our freedoms.
Words like valor, bravery, courage, true grit and heroism are used to describe their service. They seem like such small words for the huge sacrifice they and their families made for the rest of us.
This year’s Veterans’ Day program at Battle Grove Cemetery honors the men from Harrison County who died during World War II. There are 48 of them.
