The Breds have struggled a bit this season on converting extra points, but not last Friday against Pendleton County where they used three different kickers to combine for a perfect five for five. Daniel Klapheke and Joe Korona were both two for two and Justin Fryman was one for one.
The 100-yard interception return last week by Malcolm Thomas broke 40-plus year old record of Tom Dixon, who returned one 90 yards back in the mid 60’s.
From my perspective, it was good to see how competitive the Pendleton County football team has become. Going through a winless season last year, they are much improved in my eyes. I was very impressed with their hustle, determination and never give up style of play. They are a lot like Harrison in the fact that they are young and still learning. This should be a good, competitive rivalry over the next few years.
