Cynthiana-Harrison County-Berry Joint Planning Administrator Linden Smith has been fired following a February board meeting.
According to P&Z chairman Avi Bear, the commission voted unanimously to fire Smith at its rescheduled monthly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
Smith was suspended by the commission on Jan. 18 for “insubordination.”
He returned to work from that 30-day suspension on Friday, Feb. 19.
As part of Smith’s suspension terms, Bear said Smith was supposed to write letters of apology to the board.
Bear said the letters of apology were never given to the commission.
“We were expecting to have them at the meeting,” Bear said. “There were no letters and it was decided that enough was enough and that was it...”
Bear said the commission entered into executive session to discuss the personnel issue and voted to fire Smith after reconvening back into regular session.
